People had the chance to vote on the gas tax and they didnt want to put their money where their mouth is.

That gas tax would have funded numerous projects. People use the excuse " I dont think any of it would have gone to the right places", but the fact is, people just didnt want to pay it.

Now they will be paying the ultimate price. Priceless hours of their life wasting away in traffic. I guess their time is worthless to them.

The gas tax was the only fair way to do it. Gas tax is the only tax I will vote for. They can take the property tax and stick it up their arse.

Nah, you're wrong. As someone pointed out earlier, we have one of the highest local effective tax rates in the country and our local services are absolute shite. Local politics, not local funding, is the problem.

What a crock of shite! Sorry, but you're way off base in saying that.

Source of revenue isn't the problem here. It's absolutely what the politicians choose to do with it. 100%.

We have a statewide gas tax for roads right now.

We in EBR have a half cent sales tax now.

We just got hit with the largest state tax increase in state history and more local property taxes.

There is a limit to how much folks should pay.

Nope, the fact is people are tired of paying for Sen. Tboy's brother in law for doing ANOTHER useless study. We all know what needs to be done and could have done it twice with the money these slimy assholes funnel to their kinfolk and buddies for "road studies". Just do the damn thing already. Or better yet, start it and then put a tax on the ballot to finish it. Show us something tangible.
