No, actually it is very different than it was then.
The south end zone is closed in and no longer grass. The north end zone is still grass as shown.

It hasn't changed much...ever.

Good thing they put stands in the end zones. The sidelines were no longer able to handle the 4 thousand fans that pack it for home games.
