You cannot claim equality between the sexes and then attempt to justify why it is NEVER appropriate or acceptable to hit a woman.
The underlying premise of such an argument completely defies the meaning of 'equality.'
ETA: If anyone cares to engage me in a formal debate about your decision to support an anti-hitting-woman stance, I will gladly accept the challenge.

That's why these modern equality movements are all complete bullshite. They want all the advantages with none of the responsibility.
