Here is all you need to understand, Bolden is a receiver first and running back second. He isn't a running back and doesn't run like one.

If we get him we are taking him as a receiver. Now who is above him or below on your personal board of receiving targets in this class?

That is what this comes down to essentially. He is not an SEC running back. Bolden going to TCU may be better for him in a conference where he could play more running back than he would in the SEC.

That is why i think that is where he is headed. To be utilized more as a whole instrad of just a slot receiver.

If he wanna get used in a offense as a receiver TCU will be the best bet.Ask 2012 Mr.Football.At LSU he'll be doing mostly blocking.

Extra points for citing something other than height/weight of why he is a WR first.

Unfortunately, I'd say you are correct on all points.

It's unfortunate because I think Bolden COULD be a huge asset to LSU if used as an offensive swiss army knife. Just the idea of him lining up in the backfield for 2 plays and then in the slot with some LB on him makes me tingle a little bit.

Fortunately, he's not unique in that ability. If LSU thinks they need that, and think they have the same utilization in other players, so be it. If a Provens is considered to be the same type/utilization and Staff think he has more upside, again... so be it.

Spots are valuable. Some damn good WRs out there this year. If LSU isn't giving him a spot because of the "label" of WR when there is a RB spot available, shame on them however. As much as I would love to see Bolden in the P&G and as much as I would like to be able to say that, I don't think it's the case. Your point about him not running like a RB is well made and taken. It has to be factored in.

ETA: WRs are expected to be able to block at every program. Even spread/air raid. Especially an Oregon type spread; how do you think that space that's created from the formation is used. Even TTU WRs have to block; many times their route is just to get into position to block for a quick-throw play (a long handoff).
