I'm kind of mixed on it. Maybe I need to sleep on it to fully comprehend.
It was a great experience (70mm IMAX) especially the sound and score. The lack of character development was a non issue. You care about them. Tom Hardy was a boss.
I thought the non linear storyline was choppy though not hard to follow. I know special fx were limited but seemed obvious in certain scenes (3 planes in formation, people jumping from boats).

Is this the official discussion thread? If so then I'll state again, the hype was real. As another poster mentioned the lack of character development did not negatively affect me caring about them. If you need a reason to care about someone in a historical war movie when we know who the good guys are then idk what to tell you
The main gripe with past Nolan movies is that he tends to go a bit overboard and too long on the runtime, this movie did not do that. It left me wanting more in a good way
Awesome movie, go see this in theaters in IMAX or 70mm IMAX if you're lucky to have one close by

The 3 planes were not cgi and am fairly certain the people jumping from boats wasn't either

That's the way I felt. It was easy to follow on visual clues that these 3 storylines would intertwine. But it didn't seem to mesh as smoothly as it could have maybe. The score really drove home the pacing which was outstanding.
