I bought in to the Speed Queen hype after the flood when i got new stuff. They are truly remarkable machines. 25 minute loads. No water efficiency, energy crap that takes an hour plus per load. The speed queen is heavy and durable. It's guaranteed to last 25 years. I hate to sound like a broken record but it truly is the best there is.

the only thing better than a new speed queen is a used direct-drive washer you can buy off craigslist for $100.

after doing the legwork, i'm on board the napoleon direct-drive train.

your choice, $1000 for 'runner up' speed queen, or $100 for 'top choice' direct drive machine.

direct drive washers were made by whirlpool from like 1990-2010 so there are shittons of them out there. look up 'kenmore series 80 or 90' or whirlpool and you'll find them all over the place.
