When I was a kid, we were catfishing on the Ouachita just north of the Hangout, near Bastrop. Dad, LSUCouyon, hooked a monster. He fought it for several minutes, a couple of boats had stopped to see how big it was. Turned out to be about a 20lb buffalo.

Webfoot may remember fishing Little Horseshoe near Mer Rouge. He was in a boat with a friend and I was with my brother.
There was a huge splash by the bank and my brother casted there and hooked up.
Huge fish!!
It's going on da wall! He kept yelling.
Minutes later after hearing going in the wall 7,8 times, I showed him the massive choupique.
He was fit to be tied.
I wasn't man enough to NOT taunt him on at least 10 occasions and laughing after that.
It's going in da wall!
Oh and I grew up eating choupique in Avoyelles Parish. Momma could cook !!
