John has won six challenges for a total of $685,043, per Wiki. He's been on 14 seasons, not counting this latest one.
That amounts to about $49,000 per season. By year — he first started on the Duel in 2006 — it amounts to about $62,000 a year just in earnings.
I think Challenge used to give a flat fee for season appearances, but if they pay per episode, John has likely made in the 500K to $1 million area. He's appeared in about 140 episodes in his career.
By comparison, Robin has one of the worst earnings ratios. She's made a cool $8,000 in 9 seasons

I would be curious to know how much some of the rookies or Are You the One folks get. Can't imagine more than a couple thousand to come on the show.

I think you get paid for being on the real world as well, so it's probably a little more than whatever the real world people get paid per episode
