If I was moving to the burbs it would be...

1. McKinney
2. Frisco

In that order.

There nothing wrong with Plano, but it's oversaturated.

Richardson is another option possibly.

Definitely this.

Commuting from McKinney would be awful but it's a ton better than Plano IMO.

We bought in Lake Highlands. The location is great. We are 15 mins from downtown, get the comforts of a suburb, but with all the better restaurants/ entertainment offered by Uptown, Deep Ellum, Lower Greenville, etc.

No way we could commute downtown every day from Plano, McKinney, Frisco. To each their own though.

Agreed, especially since the OP mentioned he's a family man.

That being said, he has a commute to Dallas, and he said he doesn't want to be in a car for an hour each way, so that may rule out McKinney.
