Show me where each team was considered a contender for a national championship. The only people who thought that may have been the fans. LSU hasn't finished in the top 10 for 5 or more years.
Lsu began the season at 5.

One team was 4-7 and the other was 4-5.
No they weren't.

That's not royally sucking
frick no. Lsu finished 16th in 2015 and has won 10 games 4 of the last 5 years(I'm including mcneese).

Do you want me to do the losses which included blowouts of LSU by Ole Miss and Arkansas?
2015 arky was 11th in run defense
2016 arky was 89th
2015 ole miss was 21 st in run defense
2016 ole miss was 117th in run defense

Once again using misleading stats. Different seasons, different teams.
He act likes 2015 arky and ole miss are the same arky and ole miss from 2016.

In your previous post, you stated that O took over USC, who was preseason #1. LSU was also a top 5 preseason team. Pretty much every preseason publication had both of these teams as title contenders.

You are one broken fricking record.
First off unless you are his agent you don't know he wasn't.
Second at USC he became the IHC with a shot at becoming the permanent HC. Then after one season at LSU he becomes IHC and then HC.
What makes you think he would accept a coordinator job if offered? Hmmm, that's a tough one, coordinator job or head coach at USC or LSU?

So he sat at home for a year, then took the LSU DL job, but he was getting DC offers?

He was initially hired at LSU as DL coach. So he turned down coordinator jobs to become a DL coach again? Do you even realize how ignorant you look right now?

Yeah I'm sure a career dline coach has been turning down coordinator offers.

He was given the interim tag because both usc coordinators were 4 games into their tenure.
quote:

Yeah I'm sure he has never wanted a promotion for 29 of his 32 year career.
quote:
Hmmm, that's a tough one, coordinator job or head coach at USC or LSU?
Holy shite. So he has been turning down coordinator offers for 29 of his 32 year career IN CASE he got the USC and LSU head coaching jobs?
He has been turning down coordinator offers in hopes that he could one day jump from career position coach to head coach at 2 of the most prestigious programs in cfb?
You are too much.

Not only that. He has been turning down coordinator offers SO HE COULD, MAYBE, JUMP FROM CAREER POSITION COACH to head coach of 2 of the biggest programs in cfb.
He has been turning down promotions with the blind faith that he could one day go from career position coach to the head coach at usc or lsu.

The very first possession was a pick in their territory and what did we do? Sat on the ball like cowards. Miles had some bad game plans vs Bama but last year may have been the worst piece of vomit I've ever seen. It looked like they were playing for overtime the moment it was teed up. We did have some on field mistakes, oline play, WRs running the wrong routes among other things, Etling seeing ghosts early on but the gameplan and adjustments were all time bad.

And the odd thing to me was O had the opportunity to try and open up the offense and show everyone that we are gonna be aggressive on offense. Most wouldve given him a pass if he actually tried to spread bama out and we still lost because at least he wouldn't have run the same gameplan that we all know won't work against bama.

Ed Orgeron doesnt even have the 2nd best resume on his own current staff.
Cry me a river. Ed Orgeron has the #1 job on his own current staff. He is the HEAD COACH !!!
quote:
Meyer went to a mid major. He didnt move from position coach to head coach of a p5 program
Yep, what Coach O did was amazing, wasn't it?
quote:
Took over? He didnt hire a single staff member
He fired Cam Cameron, HIRED Pete Jenkins and promoted Meatball.
quote:
The fact that you think that is taking over a program just proves how limited your knowledge of cfb is.
So in all your wisdom you somehow think being the Head Coach of a football program is not taking over said football program. WTF ?????

If not hiring a single staff member
The same statement in back-to-back paragraphs? Broken record much?
Hell, I'll play, again He fired Cam Cameron, HIRED Pete Jenkins and promoted Meatball.

then I've been taking over programs all my life.
I didn't realize you were a head coach. Football? Can't be since you know so little about it, but Congratulations for being a head coach !!! What sport?
quote:
Ed Orgeron hasn't
Neither has Urban Meyer and Dabo Swinney and they both have national championships.

He successful coordinator has not proven he can run a successful program BUT NEITHER HAS ED ORGERON
Garbarldy asian, ashvjhev, and bvoduck.
quote:
The onky time Ed Orgeron was allowed to actually put his fingerprints on a program it culminated into the worst tenure ever at a program full of shitty tenures.
There was another "onky" time when Coach O fired Cam Cameron, Bradley Dale Peveto, Jabar Juluke, Demayune Craig, retained Dave Aranda, promoted Steve Ensminger and Meatball, hired Matt Canada, Tommie Robinson, and Mickey Joseph. Seems like that is putting his fingerprints on a program. Does it not?
quote:
HAS THE COACH PROVEN THEY CAN RUN A SUCCESSFUL PROGRAM
Successful Coordinator= no
ED Orgeron= no
Ed Orgeron = YES. He took over USC after a 4-7 skid and lead them to a 5-2 record. Took over a 4-5 LSU and lead the to 6-2. You are correct about the coordinator on this one - congrats !!
quote:
The fact that you can't admit that every successful coordinator has a better resume than Ed Orgeron just proves your bias
I think Coach O is right there at the pinnacle of the top jobs in the world. He is the Head Football coach at LSU. I would give Ed the better resume over any or EVERY successful coordinator.

No they weren't
The hell the weren't. USC was 3-2 with wins against Hawaii, Utah St and another scrub and losses to Washington St and Arizona State. In their last 11 games they were 4-7. Coach O took over and their next 7 games he went 5-2 with a win over the #4 and Rose Bowl winning team.
LSU was 2-2 on the season and 4-5 their previous 9 games. Coach O took over and in the team's next 8 games he went 6-2 with one loss to the #1 team in the country at the time.

That's why you love Les Miles so much. You thought what he was doing at LSU was fantastic.
Posted on 7/7/17 at 10:30 pm to Rickdaddy4188
Exactly what I thought we'd see. I know he didn't have a true OC but we ran some new stuff in previous games why not try it vs Bama? That wheel route to Fournette worked beautifully in an earlier game we also like you said moved the pocket in previous games then all of the sudden we are back to 8th grade offense. The only thing I can think of was that he thought we had them locked down and eventually we'd break something but that doesn't explain the first series. That's when you go for the throat you have all the momentum you're on their side take a shot. We did have some player mistakes too though, Etling actually had some time early but looked like he was expecting pressure and rushed a couple, Chark not getting his feet down on that great corner throw and a couple of misreads where our WR didn't sit down in zone and instead kept running. Then after the first quarter the oline just caved but the adjustments weren't there. We had a couple of 4-6 yard bubble screens, which in that game were good plays, we never ran em again. We had some check downs to backs that worked we didn't continue to run em. It was a total failure offensively by our staff.

Hey Rich-Momma Minion #1. Where you been? Had to wait for Daddy to show up before you would post in this thread again?
My bad on the above quote, I was actually trying to make the point that Coach O took over for a guy who started the previous season (2012) ranked #1 in the country and finished unranked. The first coach to do it since the early 1960's.
I doubt very seriously USC started 2013 ranked number 1 in the nation since they finished 2012 with a 1-5 record in their last 6 games.

I think after the IHC stint at USC he knew where he was going to coach next. As far as DC offers, neither you nor I know if there were any.

Not as an interim coach that doesnt run a side of the ball or choose schemes. He is putting his finger prints on the program now.

Not hiring a single staff member as an interim coach.

I didn't hire a single staff member on the 2016 lsu staff. Neither did O
I didn't run the 2016 lsu offense. Neither did O.
I didn't run the 2016 defense. Neither did O
I didn't choose schemes for 2016 lsu. Neither did O.

I said he is putting his finger prints on the program now. His finger prints weren't on the 2016 lsu program.

Wow I never knew that I've proven I can run a successful program.
If not hiring a single staff member, not running the defense, not running the offense and not choosing the schemes means youve proven you can run a successful program then I've been running successful programs my entire life.

Because you're stupid.
Ed Orgeron has one of the worst resumes for a HC of a big 6 sec program in the last 50 years. He has been a position coach for 29 of his 32 years. The 3 years that he was above a position coach was the worst tenure in ole miss history. That's a shite resume. Worse than Derek Mason at Vandy. Worse than Aranda. Worse than Canada. There is a reason he was ranked so low on the coaches' rankings.
quote:
Ed Orgeron = YES. He took over USC after a 4-7 skid and lead them to a 5-2 record. Took over a 4-5 LSU

I mean, he began building his 2017 LSU staff while he was the DL coach at USC in March of 2013 so this is definitely in line with the master plan.

Yes we do. The fact that you actually believe Ed Orgeron was turning down coordinator offers in case our AD went full retard and hired a career dline coach, is glorious.
He has been turning down promotions for 29 of his 32 year career on the chance lsu would hire a 55 year old career dline coach that has never run a successful offense, defense or program.

My bad, I don't know how I could have possibly done it, but I actually forgot that you exclusively live in the deep dark past. I was talking more recent. I have no idea about 29 to 32 years ago - Whatever you want, you can have it. No argument from me.

He has been turning down coordinator offers in hopes that he could one day jump from career position coach to head coach at 2 of the most prestigious programs in cfb?
Like I said, I forgot about your love or in your case - hatred of the historic past. I was basing my response on the last four football seasons. shite, it's hard for me to even remember what I did last week.
