Because just maybe they were innocuous meetings about nothing of significance to Sessions. Not to mention, two of the three "meetings" weren't meetings at all as they were simply at the same banquets/luncheons listening to some Heritage Foundation speakers.

He was advised that he didn't have to disclose meetings and across the room acquaintances that happened while he was in the capacity as a Senator performing committee business. And, his answer to Al Franken was bastardized way out of context and you damn well know it. He said he didn't meet any Russian officials under the auspice of a Trump Surrogate, which is 100% true.
