I just ordered the Galaxy Tab S3. Yes, it's expensive for an android tablet, but its got some great specs (HDR!!) and the S pen (which imo is worlds better than the apple pencil) is included free. Apple pencil is going to cost another $100 on top of an already pricey device. HOWEVER, I did get a chance to play with the new iPad pros and the 120hz refresh is pretty nice.
Edit: I would have absolutely gone S2 at $300 (was $200 at office depot a week ago--Wish I could have snagged that deal) if it had wacom/S pen compatibility. Something to consider if you'll be doing any note taking, drawing, etc.

hmmmmmmmmm
i kind of want this ability...for editing docs while out and about as well as my poker side gig
