First, Tuscaloosa covers beyond just the University of Alabama. Not every person in Tuscaloosa is associated with the University. Therefore, not all of those cases in those statistics are related to anything that happened with anyone at the University. Also, as I mentioned earlier in this thread, there are many difficulties in getting a rape case even to the point of being in front of a grand jury, and those reasons are not because of cover-ups. It is simply difficult to get the evidence required to prove that consent did not exist, therefore, the prosecutors cannot take the case forward.

I do not condone anything that TJ Bunn, Jr. may have done. I do not condone the mishandling by the police and the university counselor. If the evidence that he did rape her or anyone else is found, prosecutors should charge him and move forward with going before a grand jury. This case is horrible and sad, but to look at this case and those statistics objectively, you have to understand the greater problems with prosecuting rape cases.
