Rainey street is nothing like it used to be just five years ago. There used to be a lot more bars and eateries... and the crowds were very diverse and care free.

Now it has too much of a "hey look at me, I'm keeping Austin weird" try-hard crowd.

And the container bar is pretty cool, if not crowded.

it's nothing but disneyland for bachelor/bachelorette parties now. Some of the bars individually are cool. Others (Icenhauer) represent everything bad about Austin's transitioning identity.

Agreed. It's pretty solid and a lot of cover, inside-and-out from the sun. I also like Half Step and Lucille. Been to Icenhauer's a couple times, but I can't get over how long it can take to get a drink there.
