I try not to star gaze as well, but this is a lot of 3 star guys. There aren't that many diamonds in the rough. I like Curry and Provens film, and wonder why they are rated so low. I hate to say the "A" word, but Alabama hasn't built there dynasty with 3 star recruits.

I'm with you, but as long as we sign 4- and 5-star OLinemen and DL/LBers, I'm OK with 3-star athletes, TE's, RB's and WR's.

I agree. This reeks of lazy recruiting to me. Get this thing tucked away by the holidays. While the powerhouses fight over the elite

This class will be ranked around 15 when it is said and done. Which will be around 6-7th best in the SEC. Not very good. The gap appears to be widening between Bama and LSU. Coach O is defintley not off to a hot start on recuriting. So far, Les Miles was much better at recuriting. It's like Coach O's recuriting mentality is still at Ole Miss or something. He's taking every three star player he can get his hands on instead of being very selective and getting the absolute best recruits out there which are 4 and 5 star players.
we fired Miles for this.

The amount of doubters in this thread is truly disturbing, before the new scheme even hits the field. More of you need to believe in the coaches and stop being spoiled. Remember, these guys are getting the green light from O, aranda and canada. They know talent when they see it.

I don't even try to argue with people on here anymore. They put more stock into recruiting rankings than the actual player evaluations done by our coaches in person. Most of the recruiting services haven't seen half of these kids in person.

Can we let 1 class play out before writing the new staff off? Maybe they're trying to take high character guys. Guys that want to be at LSU and they see that they fit into their scheme. Maybe they will be like Bama and process lower guys when bigger fish come calling. Maybe neither. Let it play out before everyone jumps off a bridge.

Saban and Meyer also know talent when they see it. So why aren't they loading up on 3 star recruits? Im. It not trying to bash Canada before we even see his product in the field, but he's not at Pitt anymore. Getting excited over an inundation of 3 star recruits should be over for him. Congrats to him for beating Clemson last year, but we LSU fans aren't going to hang our hats on one big unexpected win a year to go along with an 8-5 record.

Assuming we go 8-5 is idiotic. We have coaching, scheme and the players. Our season rest on one game and one game alone. If we win it the 5 stars will roll in. We simply haven't won the big game lately, stop comparing us to bama when we haven't gotten over that hump yet. But we will

I hope we don't have to play Ohio state with the talent they have reeling in.

My concern is not star rating but overall scholarship slots compared to team needs.

Still need
1. At least 1 ot.
2. At least 3 wr.
3. At least 2 of the remaining cb/db.
4. Probably 1 qb.
5. Probably 1 nt/dt.

At the rate we are accepting commitments we will need several decommitments for the numbers to work.

Hold that Tiger in hopes that half the 2018 commits turn out to be Jacob Hesters.

In reference to the star ratings even if half of these guys improve on their ranking between now and signing day it still might be lower than in the past and not fill needs.

Decommits will happen at some point. They do every year. O is known for his ability to close and I expect him to close very strong this year if we play well this fall, particularly on offense.

Cook is going to Ohio state it appears. We have a fight on our hands for surtain with FSU. Marshall seems to be ours to lose, but we need to have a good year on offense from our receivers. There are several big names not on the radar now that the staff feels good about. Those kids won't shut things down until signing day though so everyone be patient.

I was not necessarily getting into naming players but just numbers overall.

To address your question

Yes at least 2 out of
Surtain, Cook, Green, and Campbell.

3 or the remaining at.
Marshall, Eagles, Jason, Preston, Chase.

I guess Provens will take Bolden or Keys spot

Definitely at least one more OT.

I agree that the coaches know more about football talent than I do regardless of scheme but the numbers are what is concerning to me.

Go O.
Go Tiger's
