Piece of shite deserved it. Who cares if they beat the shite out of him.

How about you don't kill a cop, or anyone for that matter, in the first place. If you kill someone, you deserve no sympathy, nor should you have any right to NOT have your arse kicked.

How about cops doing their job using only the force required. How about letting the system they swore to uphold do its job. How about cops not breaking the law.

Horrible that a person lost their life, no more or less because of that person's profession, but the cops should not be allowed to beat the person they think is guilty.

And who gets to make the determination that he is guilty before caving his face in? I'm not making judgement one way or another way on his guilt, but I don't like the idea of police getting free reign to do this kind of shite because they decide you're guilty.

This is why we have constitutional rights. Not to protect the rights of the guilty, but to protect the rights of everyone from the blindness of self righteous emotion in those who are charged with enforcing the law.
