While the fuel thing is true, maintace can be higher, and it is somewhat true you have to drive a lot to save the $9k in fuel. Go to KBB and get a value for a used 2500 gasser. Then click the diesel option. It will add almost exactly the same as t is to add the option new. Essentially the diesel option depreciates much slower than the rest of the vehicle is depreciating. So you don't have to save $9k to pay for it. When you sell it you realize you saved the price on about the 15 tank.

Well all you're really saying there is that our trucks depreciate equally and I paid less to maintain mine over that time span.... Anyway, not derailing the thread or nit picking fights was just reiterating whats said on here all the time; 80% of people if not more don't absolutely need a diesel, all the big 3 have outstandingly capable and reliable gassers
