Baseball is more mentally grueling just because it's more mundane imo. Lot more back to back games and the adrenaline rush isn't always there to help you through a long 160+ game season. Seems that because basketball is more directly competitive, the season wouldn't seem as long.
Not to mention there are the occasional night time extra inning games that are followed up by early afternoon games. Those have to suck.
