I'll preface this by saying i have no clue if LeBron and Butler are close friends.

It is ok, I just blindly believed you

If LeBron truly sees CLE as a mess and also Butler as a good friend, I don't think it's stupid at all for him to tell Butler to do everything he can to stay away from CLE. He's just being a good friend at that point.

It is hard to take this discussion to far because theRE are so many assumptions being made from all angles. Maybe Lebron thinks it is a mess but still wants to fix it and isn't set on leaving. I doubt his mind is made up either way, although I can see him leaning for towards leaving at this point. I don't see them winning it next year but if they did add Butler and win, that definitely changes a lot IMO.

if you worked for a company you hated and were trying to find a new job, would you try to hire your friend on with that company you hate?

First off, I think that is a stretch to say Bron hates his "company". Hating your boss would be a better comparison.

To be clear as well, I was approaching the situation as Lebron telling him to stay away is stupid. I don't think Lebron being honest with him and warning him about potential issues is stupid (the most likely case IMO). But flat out telling him to stay away would be stupid IMO.
