Mental illness is something that comes from within one's own head. It's easy to blame yourself but it's something she'll have to deal with herself, with the help of mental health professionals and friends and family to support her.
It doesn't matter how great someone's life seems to be on the outside, mental illness can afflict anyone. And unfortunately is often the case they'll struggle with it their entire lives. There's not really a "cure". Just different ways of coping.
