Thoughts on Walker

It was obvious to me by the way he let CPM know that he wasn't alright that there was more to the story.
I watched that sequence over and over and without any signs of pain he was able to simply make eye contact with Pap and CPM and they knew he wasn't good.
I think that's a pretty clear indication that he wasn't ok and CPM knew it and threw him anyway. The slightest of eye gesture tells CPM that Walker can't throw and immediately Gilbert was ready? It's as if CPM was waiting for the signal.
So the pitching strategy for this CWS is even more mind boggling. I gave CPM credit after the first game for bringing in Poche but that was under the belief that Walker was ok.
Gilbert or Hess could have followed Lange and closed with Newman if Walker was indeed not 100%. Poche should have been the starter last night and these two indecisions have really put Lsu in a serious bind.
Our bats better start hitting because I can't see our pitching that's left being able to shut anyone down. Lsu is gonna need to score in the 9-10 range for the next 3 games to make to the championship.
Terrible decision to start Walker if he wasn't 100% and I believe that CPM knew that he wasn't.

I assume you meant he wasn't able to make eye contact. Nonetheless, that didn't happen. Probably the opposite. Walker wanted the ball.

He did make eye contact. That was the signal to let CPM know he wasn't ok. Who cares if Walker wanted the ball? Of course he wanted the ball, but if he wasn't 100% then it's Cpm's job to sit him.

It's also his job to put us in the best position to win.

So you believe CPM and Dunn watched Walker throw, saw he wasn't 100% and threw him anyway? That's plain ignorant.

Why does LSU need to score 9-10. Poche is pitching Wednesday and Lange will pitch Friday if they win.

I have no reason not to believe that Walker was good to go before the game and CPM was confident in his arm. But they were prepared for the possible situation of something flaring up on Walker again.

That's my entire point of this post!!
Do you think that he did that? Obvious that he knew Walker wasn't 100 and he chose to start him in game 2 anyway.
I think it's a great move to bring Poche in game 1 if Walker is good to go in game 2, but that was not the case.
Was it not obvious to you by the way Walker signaled CPM that he knew ?
Posted on 6/20/17 at 6:02 am to PeaRidgeWatash
Im saying that if CPM wasn't 100% sure that Walker was good to pitch then Poche should not have played in game 1. Poche should have been the game 2 starter!
It sure as hell seemed clear to me that CPM was ready for the signal from Walker that he couldn't go.

How many pitches did Poche end up throwing Saturday? I'm not from the Wayne Graham school of coaching but 3 days rest is not ideal. I hope that Poche can throw 7 innings and his arm holds up but in my opinion the bats better wake up fast.

Need to be concerned about Newman. He looked rough out there.

He was. That doesn't mean he knew it before the game.
PM said Walker started cramping up again during warm ups before the third. Walker obviously made him aware of it at that point and PM was ready to make the call if he got even the slightest indication he was done.
Even if it hadn't been for the flare during warm up PM would have still been on high alert the entire game given the situation this past week. Again, doesn't mean he wasn't fully convinced Walker was fine, just that he would be aware things could go south at any point, even if he fully checked out the past few days.
No way PM throws Poche out of the pen Saturday if he isn't fully convinced Walker was ready to go Monday.
But nah it's obviously more fun to make some big epic post about what a monster/idiot our coach is and his diabolical/incompetent plan to ruin the kid's career and take our next two seasons down the toilet at the same time.
Killer analysis

He threw 30 pitches. He'll be fine.

Where did I say any of that? If there was even a sliver of doubt in CPM's mind about Walker then Poche should not have played Saturday!
Does that translate to you that I'm calling CPM an idiot and that i believe that he is ruining Walkers career?
Good Lord!!

Well let's check the OP, shall we...

And the kicker...

I could go into your subsequent posts in this thread where you double and triple down on the stupid from the OP, but you did a bang up job laying it all out from the get go

idiot. why don't you adjust your tin foil hat and go peddle this nonsense somewhere else.
some people find conspiracies everywhere and you seem to be one of them; the Trump syndrome.

So saying that CPM made a bad decision equates to me calling him an idiot?
Pitching Walker means that I believe that CPM is trying to ruin his career?
Lmao ! You people are a trip!

You're assuming that it's a given he knowingly made a bad decision. Hindsight is 20/20
