Seems like the biggest headache of owning a successful HVAC business is the employees. Constantly managing 5-10 guys who just can't get their shite together has got to be stressful. And if you do find someone who has their shite together, what is stopping him cutting out the middleman and going into business for himself?

No doubt. I personally worked with a guy who used to snort coke off a Maxim magazine in the company truck, and if you live in Baton Rouge, this company has likely worked on your home or your place of business.

The dream you should have if you start your own business is to bring on a guy who will learn the trade, be encouraged by any rewards and commissions you offer him by selling more equipment, and eventually has the desire to buy your business when you retire.

I had the opportunity to buy a business, and I took a pass. Biggest mistake of my professional life thus far.
