The deep state controls the government/world. The deep state is not partisan (see the Uniparty in action currently) They enrich / propogate themselves via war. They use principles below to steer the masses:

Divide and rule (or divide and conquer, from Latin divide et impera)

and

Bread and circuses (or bread and games; from Latin: panem et circenses)

The higher level players are controlled via extensive blackmail rings (Pedogate). Most in DC are compromised (either willingly or drug induced).

Above begets /justifies human trafficking, organ harvesting, human experimentation, drug running

All the while some profit from the process, the rebuilding, the innovation, and the very blood/vitality of society

It's a term for a state within a state. It was originally ascribed to countries like Egypt, Turkey and Pakistan, where the military and/or intelligence services are essentially an independent and unaccountable branch of government.

The Deep State in the United States would be the big Wall Street financiers, the intelligence community, defense contractors and the mainstream media, who all have a singular drive to keep America at war and the surveillance and the spying apparati thriving, all while having zero accountability to the government or its citizens.

"Deep State" can be somewhat of an instinct for survival. Autonomic reaction like "fight or flight". A survival instinct that can be relied upon to protect the status quo, and in doing so, protect their own gravy train and power. They may not even believe their own reasoning's for opposition..they just know they must resist change.

Get off of DU and out of your Granny's basement more often.

That term has been around for years and years.
