Well if you want to get technical, admission boards are required to accept a certain percentage of "diverse" students in terms of race, culture, gender, etc... They are willing to go so far to meet national standards, that they are willing to accept a minority with lower GPA & lower MCAT over someone with better GPA & MCAT.

So technically someone who has a stastically lower chance of getting in based on race, culture, or gender are sometimes forced to seeking alternative degrees in order to practice a similar profession.

So in short, no, not always.

Yes there is truth in what you said that some kids in majority demographics get rejected when they may have been accepted if it weren't for a push towards diversity. I don't know that that means we should open OMM schools though without any scientific evidence to support OMM
