quote:Yeah. This is why I don't understand why shitting on Elon Musk is the cool thing to do. Everyone has an agenda, but at least his is furthering advancements in cleaner energy/space travel while making a lot of money doing it.
The GM bailout alone cost taxpayers $10 billion.

to think that Elon Musk will not benefit from this agreement is the ultimate "head up your arse" moment.
first he makes electric cars and the resultant rise in the cost of fossil fuels will bring his products "use" cost down.
It's also obvious that he also needs tens of thousands of charging stations throughout the U.S. so that you can drive them anywhere but locally and who do you think he want to pay for them?
second he just started taking pre orders for his solar panels for home use at a cost of 50-60k for the average house if you get the battery storage system which you need to have to be energy sufficient
oh by the way if you live in a low solar area in the north that cost goes up to about 90k because you need more panels. now imagine if the cost of electricity generated by current means increases 25-30% do you think they might sell quite a few more of those systems?
now I'm not saying that is his sole reason for endorsing the Paris accord but you should at least acknowledge that this gives him the I care about climate change heart warming moment that he can use to make his green commitment claims while providing him tremendous economic benefits without any direct exposure to his corporation.
