Exactly. Same for someone who gives a movie a 0 because they don't like Tom Cruise. Critics aren't paragons of filmic intelligence (they get shite wrong all the time), but they're still way smarter than the average joe. I'll trust them over an audience score any day (unless it's some unknown feminist film blooger). I had no doubt that Baywatch and Pirates would be bad, and the critic scores confirm it.

Critics are not smarter than the average moviegoer. They look at different things.
The primary functions of a film are to tell a story and to entertain the audience.
Critics don't typically care about the 2nd part.
