2nd CSA flag after the first one was deemed to similar too the American flag.
On April 23rd, 1863, the Savannah Morning News editor William Tappan Thompson, with assistance from William Ross Postell, a Confederate blockade runner, published an editorial championing a design featuring the battle flag on a white background he referred to later as "The White Man's Flag.
In explaining the white background, Thompson wrote, "As a people we are fighting to maintain the Heaven-ordained supremacy of the white man over the inferior or colored race; a white flag would thus be emblematical of our cause."
But yeah, state's rights.
But the CSA finally objected because it represented surrender.
How many flags did the CSA go through?

Openly cheering for soldiers that took part in killing innocent women and children under Sherman.
I'm sure you were the same person going off on Trump saying he would carpet bomb Isis strongholds in Iraq and Syria.
The hypocrisy is ridiculous.

I'll respectfully remember their sacrifice by not flying confederate battle flags of pretending the war was fought for economic reasons that were somehow not directly tied to slavery.
You don't have to agree with the motivations of the bureaucrats who started a war to take arms against an invading army that brings death, ruin & starvation to you and your loved ones. Read up on the red river campaign baws. Thieving northerners followed the wake of the warpath to further plunder the homesteads of those who happened to be on the path. You can't reduce a complex issue into such mindnumbingly simple drivel as "but slavery man!, slavery!"

I prefer the United States of America to a continent akin to Africa. I don't know how we would have looked as a nation if the South had won.
The sacrifice on both sides is nothing short of breathtaking. I cannot even begin to comprehend.

Hey man, if you hate The United States, and the things we did, there's an exit door right over there. Don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya. --------->

One post about Union soldiers. One. Amid the dozens of posts about Confederates. And suddenly I'm trolling?

My great, great, great grandfather was captured at Vicksburg.
The Union made him sign an allegiance agreement and sent him back home to the family farm in Haynesville LA.

And Americans you've been ever since! Fly Old Glory high! Its the best flag in the world!

There are monuments everywhere across the country that perfectly illustrate their sacrifice. Like Chicago for example...

So you hate past American soldiers? I just wanna hear one of you Confederate sympathizers admit, just one time, you hate America. I know it brews deep within you. The most "patriotic" people are from the south, yet most of them hate the USA before 1900. I love America for all its glory. From Plymouth Rock until 2017. Can you say that?
