The selection committee has been working for several years to clear a backlog of WRs. Andre Reed, Chris Carter, Tim Brown, and M. Harrison have recently been inducted. The thought was that TO was supposed to go in this year. That would have been 5 WRs in 5 consecutive years and cleared the backlog for the next wave of WRs.

Passing & receiving stats won't matter as much from a historical perspective because the game and rules are so different now. WRs will be judged against their contemporaries, with things like All Pro selections mattering more than stats measured against WRs from other eras.

Tim brown had to wait a long time, and TO is waiting longer than he should. I don't expect many guys you listed to make the HOF anytime soon.

I think that we will see a lot more WR's and less RB's over the next ten years, so it will even out. Besides Peterson, is there another RB on an active roster that is a definitive HOF player? Maybe Bell?
