Also I don't get exactly what he did. From what it sounds he told her to "park and collect herself", does that mean he wouldn't let her drive off but to leave the vehicle until later when she was sober? If so, I think he may have did the right thing. If he just gave her a warning and let her pull out of there, he may have made the wrong decision.
But hind sight is 20/20

Sounds more like she gave him the excuse for her bad driving as "being sick" and since he didn't smell alcohol maybe he believed it.
Park and collect yourself" sounds like he believed her to just be ill.
