Anyone who thinks a mere 10lbs. of muscle will affect his speed or mobility either way substantially is bonkers.
Plus muscle can help you carry your pads better if they weighed you down before (but again 10 lbs. is not going to affect that much).
What it will help with is hand fighting and getting off jams at the line and fighting for the ball in the air.
The benefits would far outweigh any hypothetical .01 drop in 40 time.
Unless you think Thomas looked slow or unathletic on the field last year and this will suddenly tank him. And 4.56(?) isn't slow. It's not top end or elite speed, but how many guys run 4.4s and can catch? There's a reason those types go very early. They are rare.

5 months = 10 pounds
1 pound = 3500 calories
Pretty much an excess of 200 calories a day (give or take) with the best trainers in the world...
Yal make it sound like he gained the 40lbs that Benjamin did or looked like a fat 10lbs gained. 220 is a solid weight for his height, he needs the size and strength if he's going to be that #1 willing to take huge hits over the middle.

If 10lbs wasn't substantial then it wouldn't be a story. Once again you are off the mark. Stick to your video games
