On a side note, how did the 2010 Chargers go 9-7 and miss the playoffs while having the #1 offense AND #1 defense in the entire NFL lulz
They were -6 in turnovers for the season. They had 18 turnovers in their 7 losses. They also had one of the worst special teams units in NFL history. They had four punts blocked that season.
They gave up two kickoff return TDs against Seattle.
In a loss to Oakland, they had a punt blocked out of the end zone for a safety and another punt blocked and returned for a touchdown.
They gave up 7 non offensive touchdowns for the season. That is staggering.
Speaking of San Diego, their 2006 team has to be mentioned here somewhere. They were awesome and were easily the best team in football that year. Martyball did them in.

Poor Marty. It's easy to criticize him, but he had some otherworldly shitty luck.
The Drive, Earnest Byner and Marlon McCree fumbling, Lin Elliott and Nate Kaeding missing field goals...that's a cruel collection of incidents regardless of what his coaching philosophy was.
