I paid the "idiot tax" on my first truck. Bought it brand new because I was pre-approved for 30k as a college freshman. Ended up paying almost 20k in interest. Learned my lesson early on in life and have only bought gently-used vehicles since. I won't even finance now. If I don't have the cash to buy it, I don't buy it. I could pay 60k for a truck, but I refuse to.
