right. but most of the times he'd have made it to the finals in the west, he'd have won the title. So he'd still have about the same number of rings.
Completely disagree. Let's take 2 seasons ago as our first example. The Cavs had the 2nd best record in the East, but the 7th best in the NBA overall. That would have put them 6th in the West. And realistically, if the Cavs played a Western Conference schedule instead of their Eastern Conference schedule, it's possible (and even likely) they would have finished 7th.

But anyway, 6th in the West means they would have had to face in the playoffs:

First round:

Cavs vs. Clippers (those Clippers beat the Spurs that year and nearly went to the WCF. They were really good)

Second round:

Cavs vs. Spurs or Grizzlies

Third round:

Cavs vs. Warriors

Finals:

Cavs vs. Hawks or whoever

Last year:

Cavs record would have put them 3rd in the West and they would have had to play:

Portland
San Antonio
Golden State

And in the Finals probably the Raptors or something.

I'm not sure they get out of the West either of those years much less win the whole thing. I'm not even sure they'd make the conference Finals either year.

A) He was saying IF they made it to the Finals out of the west, they'd probably win the title in those years. He's probably right.

B) 2015 is the only season during his streak that you can argue the Cavs weren't one of the top 2 teams in the NBA.
