I get that. The thinking would be that putting the guy leading the team in extra-base hits and a 400+ OBC (and tied for second in HRs) would make it a more difficult decision to pitch around Deichmann.

If I'm wrong so be it. I was just seeking opinions on the idea.

No disrespect to KR, but there is no one on this team that commands the respect at the plate to pitch to GD in leu of pitching around him. You can put anyone on the roster behind him and teams are still going to pitch around him unless the situation doesn't allow for it.

On the flip side, if I wanted a particular person to see some good pitches, I'd put them right in front of GD. I would, however, like to see GD in the 3 slot just to get some more at bats for your best bat.
