More people than not will have 1500$ or more worth of repairs covered under a bumper to bumper warranty by 100k miles. If you are spending 40000$ on a vehicle and plan on keeping it it 100k, it makes perfect financial sense to get a warranty on it. The more expensive the vehicle, the costlier the parts and labor.

The ext warranty is a scam man. I don't know how else to tell you that. It is a sucker bet. It's like taking insurance on the black jack table.
The salesman is winning when you do this.
