Crazy to think that the whole band was Canadian aside from Levon Helm and they wrote the best Civil War folk song. And some of the best folk songs ever written.

And the only popular song about the Acadian Exile.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Dixie, Cripple Creek, and The Weight are among the songs that Levon primarily wrote.

This would be a source of animosity later, as you're probably aware

Levon wrote most of the songs. Robbie just stole them.
