Say Hello to Heaven is my favorite vocal performance from a song, ever.

The range and emotion is unreal.

Alteenative is like a blanket term for everything 90's and on. Chris Cornell would have been awful in REM, which is also alternative. So best vocals in grunge

His last tweet gave no indication of suicide. He waa there for a show

What did you want him to tweet?

"Hey everyone...I am going to kill myself after this show so let's have a great one" ?

For Soundgarden listen to:

The Day I Tried to Live
Fell on Black Days
Superunknown

... The day I tried to live is one of my all time favorite rock songs.

Look at this musical historian naming all of Soundgarden's most famous songs. I am sure many have never heard of these they are so underground.

FYI, CC had some great songs outside of Audioslave and SG

You Know My Name from the Bond movie is a great tune as is Can't Change Me

REM would have been incredible with Cornell. Cornell does a bunch of covers of different artists and just about every one is better than the original.

I saw them in Tuscaloosa just two weekends ago. Chris seemed fine that night. He signed a couple of items from the crowd, and was very gracious. His voice obviously isn't what it was 30 years ago, but he was in good shape otherwise.

Such a shame.
