Wrong. Not the ones who moved out in the 80s and 90s. It was crime, poor services and poor schools. But mostly crime.

The ones being pushed out now are the lower wage earners, and they're being pushed out by the liberal transplants who find Brooklyn and SF too expensive. Those same transplants are pushing to down the statues, not the black folk the sane hipsters are forcing out of the city.

Ironically the hipsters will get bored of NOLA, move on, and the Detroitization of NOLA will begin as the housing market collapses.

I live in the burbs. I'm considered poor in my neighborhood. My house is only 7000 sq ft. My contractor is currently building a 15,000 sq ft house, a 16000 sq ft house, an 18,000 sq ft house and a 20,000 sq ft house in our hood. We po'.
