Funny how it always ends up being severe isolation at the end. I used to leave bars with friends just to go home and drink by myself

I didn't realize the shite I did until I got sober. I'd go to the casino to drink after the bars were closed. Wouldn't even gamble, didn't think much of it then.

Talking with a friend I tried to convince myself and him that I can go out and have 1 or 2 beers. I do it all the time. Then he said, well how much do you drink when you get home?

I'd spend roughly $50 at the bar and then buy a bottle of Turkey and a six pack on the way home.

One of the benefits of being sober is I don't give a frick about getting pulled over. I know that's bad, but I would laugh at JUST getting a speeding ticket. You mean it's only $180. That's it. No probation. No classes. No drug testing. Cool. Here, take $360. I'll pay for the guy behind me in line.
