I would say Northeast Pro Fans. Pretty easy to be a fan of a college team that plays 12 times a year as opposed to being a fanatic of a team that plays 162 or 82 games or whatever they play in Hockey.
Totally.
But the opinion won't be popular.
Way easier to be fans of 12 game season with hot young chicks all-around you...than supporting the Red Sox for 7 months...(even though I hate the Sox) - those baseball fans who didn't win shite forever are far more passionate...than a bunch of young people who show up to see hot chicks and the most popular sport in America for 12 games.
You have to be super loyal and passionate to support most Pro sports because most Pro sports leagues suck.

How many pro sports fans support a team just because they win? Look at the Steelers and Patriots in the NFL. Look at the Yankees and Red Sox in MLB. Look at Golden State and Cleveland in the NBA.
Pro sports are notorious for having bandwagon fans with zero attachment to the city, state region in which they are located.
College sports are far more tribal, which in turn makes them more intense, and the rivalries in Southern states are often traced back to demographic divisions in the South after the Civil War and Reconstruction.

Sox - Yankees is also British soccer tribal. Giants/Dodgers.
Raiders-Chargers (good lord, you can get killed)
College football is popular because the sport is awesome played on beautiful Saturdays with good music and hot chicks. It's a 12 game concert with babes and a sport almost everyone totally loves.
So it doesn't take a huge committment and passion to support college football - you're not really going out on a limb to want to go to an FSU game against Florida. "Hey you want to go to that FSU game, or a strip club? Lets go to the FSU game, because we can also see football!"

Agreed. It takes dedication to follow a baseball team 162 games a year.
