By saying "learning the error of his ways" you're implying he also built the roster from 2015 and 2016. Whether he asked Luhnow to acquire Beltran or not the first part is not true.

Those were my words, not Smoltz. I may be reading more into what he said, but I took it to mean also understanding the use of his players according to their abilities rather than only their lifetime statistics.
