Yea, statistically he's pretty much had the same season in Houston as he's had in New Orleans, he just stayed healthy. Anderson shot a bit better from 3, but he's practically the same, too. People act like they went to Houston and started playing a lot better, and that just isn't the case.
At first glance his stats look the same... but they're not.

2pt fg% is his highest since 2011.

His 3pt% is slightly less than in New Orleans, but he's taking between 3-5 more 3's per game in Houston in less minutes per game, and he's taking them from longer distances in Houston. So his percentage is slightly lower, but he's talking more difficult shots by design with the Rockets whereas he was only shooting spot-up open 3's in New Orleans.

He's averaging more points in Houston than he has in New Orleans since 2012.

His eFG% is the highest it's been since his rookie season.

And his defense has been pretty good.

He's just been a really good player and I have nothing but good things to say about him this season.

Here is a snippet of an article from January about how the Rockets shoot long 3's by design:

quote:

Gordon leads the NBA with 114 three-pointers made between 25 and 29 feet, per NBA.com stats.

Harden isn’t too far behind, having nailed 92, and Anderson is next up with 73 deep triples. Along with Curry, Harden, Anderson, and Gordon hoist three of the four most attempts in the league from that range.

Houston puts him in a better role having him take a lot more 3's and less midrange shots, but otherwise he is pretty much the same player. Advanced stats bear that out. Not to say he hasn't been a good player for you all as Morey/D'Antoni had a much better plan to use his talents and the training/medical staff has done a great job.

Yes, the system that he's in is different than what the Pelicans ran, but he's the same player.
