Nobody, black or white, cared about the statues until Half Moon decided to get rid of them in the name of togetherness (he achieved the exact opposite). All he's done is incite outside agitators and Tulane/Loyola SJWs who are taking up his anti-history cross. Now we see black people actually taking up the fight to save the statues. Mitch sold his soul to the devil (Al Sharpton, et al), and I hope he enjoys his 30 pieces of silver. He's a joke who has divided the city in ways it hasn't been divided in years. I agree. Only Lee and Beauregard were well known. I drove by Davis hundreds of times and never stopped.
If Mitch would have came out with a plan just to change Lee circle into Tricentennial circle, people who support the monuments may have even been on board.
Instead he drew a line in the sand.
Absolutes bring out this kind of response.
