Actually I think his 12-4 record in his last two interim gigs is pretty good evidence.

That's the same winning percentage that got Miles on the hot seat in 2015 and eventually fired.

Exactly. There was a poster yesterday that said Lsu played very well under Orgeron last year. So now i guess losing at home to 14 point underdogs that are missingbtons of defensive starters is playing well. Having Chattanooga be more productive against bama than we were is now considered playing very well.

Winning percentage was not what got Les Miles fired. It was his unwillingness to change. It was him telling the AD he would allow the offense to open up and not doing it.

Not exactly. It wasn't just his record in 2015. His teams had blown out in three consecutive games and really weren't competitive. Combine that with his last two and half plus seasons yielding a 19-10 record or 0.655 winning percentage. There was a downward trajectory.
Not to mention that O had to right a sinking ship and salvage the season.
I'm not saying that Orgeron should have been the top candidate and he wasn't but, after Herman was no longer available, the remaining field was unremarkable and no one on this board knows if the other possibilities had any interest in LSU.
Miles had his chance and he was supported through many of his blunders. O deserves that level of support as well.
