Nikki's West is great for being in such a shite area, and we're an underrated BBQ town too (although Golden Rule wouldn't be my first or even second choice)

I was talking more along the lines of fine dining like Highlands Bar & Grill, Hot & Hot Fish Club, Ovenbird, Chez Fonfon

You bring up a good point though, we also have tons of great casual and hole in the wall places. Saws Soul Food, Melt, and Delta Blues Hot Tamales are some of my favorite along those lines.
