You keep saying this as if anyone is trying to impress you. But you do seem to care or think such statements are important enough to respond to it. It really does add nothing to the discussion to point out someone's opinion in a casual forum where people spend all day long giving their opinions.

Science, philosophy, education, etc. I sure hope you don't believe religion to be the only thing preventing human nature from turning us back into wild animals.

See, here's your issue. Atheists don't rely on a contradictory book written thousands of years ago by primitives for their moral compasses. If you do, have at it. Just don't expect everyone to continue falling for it.
