Exactly Smalls. They pass the same board exam and start out at the exact same salary. The AD has smaller loans to pay and the BSN has larger loans to pay. Depends on what a person can handle financially. BTW, I'm a diploma nurse, Charity Hospital School of Nursing. That was the best nursing program anywhere. If you didn't learn it there, you wouldn't learn it anywhere else. If I wanted to walk hospital halls in heels and pearls, I would have gone the BSN, MSN route.

I am an AD RN. The OP will hear shite their career about needing to get a BSN. It's all bullshite. Get one if you want one. The major hospitals got into bed with the business of nurse education.
