You're 14 hour On Duty is continuous, once you go On Duty the only way to get a fresh 14 is to shut down/sleeper for 10 hours. So using that example if a driver shows up to load and they tell him it'll be 5 hours, he can get in his sleeper and mark Off Duty and do whatever he'd like, but he'd have to remain there(Off Duty) for 10 hours to get a fresh 14(On Duty). Makes sense?
