GFCI outlet not working and can't get it to reset.
That can be caused by a bad GFI, no power or even a short that trips it quickly.

I think my 220 breaker arched
Can you verify that you have the 220 coming out of the breaker?
Also open up the outlet and double check the wiring at the receptacle

Getting nothing from the breaker. Checked the outlet and it looks good. Plastic housing so I don't think it shorted from there.

And this is just a regular 2 pole breaker? And do you have another spot that you can place it within the panel?
Post some pics might help

You could use a circuit breaker finder.
Thanks Hogdaddy. Surprised it took someone this long to advise checking the circuit before pecking away at wires. ALWAYS use an outlet tester or some sort of meter before putting your hands on bare metal.
Also, if you had multiple wires, including a red wire, you have a light with two switches wired as a three-way like this:
Your general standard switches and outlets will have 3 conductors in them: white, black, and a ground (green or bare copper).

You have 220v on the load side of other 220v breakers in the panel? Swap the breaker, it's 2017, brand new shite might not work.

Regular 2 pole and I'm out of room on the panel. Will post pics in an hour or so when the attic cools off. F climbing up there now.

Very true, I was installing some 240vac parking lot lights with an external photocell and had to throw 2 of the photocells away because they were bad
Pure junk

He said he had black, white, red and green in the ceiling box and that's all. That's what people usually run so they can switch them separately.

They aren't fond of them in the attic anymore. Must be an electric heat/ac panel. The breaker feeding it is probably bad.
He didn't say if he checked it the way I asked.

I think you are right but I don't know how to fix it. I'm no electrician or dare devil

Yes sub panel.
Also, your marg machine is 220v???? Can I get an invite, you must hammer them!

Long story it was the lead machine in a daiquiri bar and ran about 8 machines. I got the compressor and yes it's a beast and you and No8 are always welcome

Ah, right. That wire setup can also be used to operate the fan and light from separate switches. Forgot about that part...
But generally, standard Romex only has 3 conductors. Those with the added red conductor are exceptions.

Read the name plate, if it says 120/240/208 then it should have a neutral too and not just a ground.
