Waiting to redeem my code from ASUS at midnight!

You get a free key from ASUS?
I wanted to purchase this, as i was addicted to DoW2 back in the day, but i've heard they changed a lot; like no more "cover" and such. Still on the fence

Yep! I think it's worth a go. I wouldn't spend $60 on it but you can find it below $40 on a few websites.
I've seen multiple people say it's very different from DOW2 but most everyone seems to enjoy it still. There was an initial group-hate that spawned early in the open beta criticizing it for what it wasn't but once everyone took it in for what it was they really enjoyed it.

Here is my code for $40, not sure if it's one time use or not.

Never played a Dawn of War game, I just finished the tutorial and this seems like it might be pretty fun.

HOLY shite, use your save function because there is no incremental auto save feature, I was on the last part of a mission and failed and now have to start the whole damn thing over.
They don't show you your saved games so if you use a numbering system like I do you better remember what your last save number was or you might overwrite a previous save.

Asus still hasn't sent me my code... which is okay considering finals are next week.

I guess I am the only one playing this. It's fun but I don't like that they make you play all three factions in the campaign, I hate playing the Orc faction.

Finally got my code and downloaded the game! Unfortunately Fred's just got the better of me so I'll try it out tomorrow

I have 2 missions left of the 17 in the campaign mode with 22 hours played and my thoughts:
First of all I would buy this game at $40 or under and pay more if you like the genre, I don't regret buying it and that's more than I can say for most releases this year.
Pros:
- It's a fun Starcraft style game
- Campaign is longer than most AAA
Cons:
- Some of the missions are "wait until you have enough resources to upgrade or build an army" the resource production is slow.
- Making me play all three races through the whole game sucks if you don't like or if you prefer one over the others. But I think this is common for this style of game.
- Upgrading sucks because like most games it's clear as mud.
- There are mission where you must complete objectives, even the secondary ones if you want to complete them, at least for me there was.
- Save system sucks without being able to see the previous save list.
I know I had a lot more cons but a lot of it is my play style. The game is good and worth a play, I enjoyed it more than Andromeda and Wildlands.

Just got through the first couple campaign missions and I'm going to have to agree with this. Completely forgot to save during the mission as well.

It isn't bad once you learn the upgrades. I finished the game tonight on casual difficulty took about 25 hours.

One big thing I've noticed so far is that I'll have a lot of troops stocked up and all of a sudden I'll have like 2-3 left after a small skirmish. There's obviously a lot of strategy that I'm missing at this point in time, otherwise I wouldn't be losing so many people so fast.

Each faction has a way to "rez" a depleted squad, not a dead one though.

I know space marines have the blue plus sign button when they are standing near their base but what do Eldar and Orks have?
Posted on 5/4/17 at 10:59 pm to Mystictiger
Orc have a companion where you can rez on the spot as long as they are in range and selected, I can't remember if the Eldar have one or not they are my least favorite race to play.
